Smiley is an upcoming 2012 American horror film that is currently in post-production. The film was directed by Michael J. Gallagher and stars Caitlin Gerard, Melanie Papalia, and Shane Dawson.[1]

After learning of an urban legend in which a demented serial killer named SMILEY can be summoned through the Internet, mentally fragile Ashley (Caitlin Gerard) must decide whether she is losing her mind or becoming Smiley's next victim.[2]
Principal photography for the film took place using Red One cameras with Mysterium Sensor and a brief 7D sequence in Summer 2011 and was completed on August 25, 2011. On September 4, 2011, Gallagher stated that editing would likely take about 4-6 months to complete. A behind the scenes special was released on September 3, 2011. A second behind the scenes special was released on September 11, 2011. A third behind the scenes special was released on September 19, 2011. The film's trailer was released on November 26, 2011.[3]
The film is scheduled to be released in 2012, theatrically, as well as on iTunes, DVD, BluRay, VOD and Netflix. On December 14, 2011, Gallagher stated that he was preparing the film for test screenings. A private screening of the film took place on December 26, 2011. Shane Dawson (who plays Binder in the film) viewed a cut of the film on December 28, 2011. Fans are anticipating that the film will be released in Spring 2012.
